The Word of the prophet has come true:
Look, A virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son,
And they will call him, Emmanuel. ~~Matthew 1:23 (New Testament)
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.~~Isaiah 7:14 (Old Testament)
Escape to Egypt. Can you even imagine the trip this young couple would take with a new born child. Bethlehem to Egypt - 200 miles on foot or camel.

The trust and faith in God this young couple exhibited to make the journey to Egypt. As a parent, can you imagine the thoughts Mary and Joseph had in keeping their son safe and alive from potential death from Herod?
ReplyDeleteI admire both Mary and Joseph who came from such separate lives to follow God together, not really knowing each other at all, but simply and unquestionably following the signs from God. Joseph had the choice to divorce or even have Mary stoned since she was with child before marriage, but listened to God and married her. How would things have turned out (today) if those two had not lead with such bold faith?
